Greta van den Brink's latest single takes listeners on a dark and mysterious adventure.
New track Valentina is a cinematic country-rock journey set against a dusty border-town backdrop of tequila, secrets and intrigue. Unfolding like a neo-Western film, the song follows a cast of characters whose stories collide over one unforgettable night.
Valentina feels like a little movie in a song," Greta says."I wanted it to feel hot, dusty and slightly dangerous, like you've walked into the middle of a story and you're not quite sure what happened before you got there. There are all these little characters and clues, but you never get the full picture.
While Greta's debut album explored heartbreak, self-discovery and growing into yourself, Valentina sees the Tāmaki Makaurau artist stepping into the role of narrator, piecing together fragments of a stranger's story and leaving listeners to fill in the blanks.
