Cole Swindell shared a sweet, full-circle moment with his daughter.

The country star, 43, returned to his home state of Georgia to film a music video for his emotional new single, “Girl Dad,” and recreate a photo from his childhood.

Cole said it’s “one of my favorite photos,” of himself with his late father. William Keith Swindell died in September 2013. He was 64. Cole later lost his mother, Betty Carol Rainey, in September 2021. She was 79.

Now, he recreated the photo with his father, posing with daughter Rainey Gail Swindell. The country star and his wife, Courtney Litle Swindell, welcomed Baby No. 1 on August 7, 2025. Cole said at the time that his daughter is “our greatest blessing.”

“So, we’re here in Glennville, Georgia, where I spent a lot of my childhood all the way up until, like, fifth grade. And I’m sitting on the front steps of the house I grew up in, and it’s just wild to be sitting here,” Cole said in a clip he shared on Instagram.

“One of my favorite photos is me and my dad on these steps, and he’s holding me, like, right here. And I just, to sit where he sat all those years ago is just unbelievable. I was showing my brother, Ritchie, the picture I was talking about. I wanted to recreate it with my daughter, Rainey. And he saw the pumpkin in the original picture, and he’s like, ‘man I got Dad’s original jack-o-lantern that he used to trick-or-treat (with) when he was a kid. Since we don’t have a pumpkin, I can go grab that. So, Ritchie went and grabbed this right here. Just wild. And then my dad made this out of papier-mâché and trick-or-treated with it. And my brother has that and a lot of other just cool stuff. And just, I don’t know, just a special day and a special song. And just everybody, Tim, his family that lives here now, thank you for allowing us to shoot this video, man. This place means a lot to me, and I just can’t wait for y’all to see this video.”

“Not sure I knew how much I needed that day in Glennville when we shot the video for Girl Dad,” Cole wrote in his caption. “It was therapeutic in a way because of moments like this.. Thankful for Tim (who lives there now and is also a girl dad) allowing me to recreate this picture with Rainey. Maybe someday she’ll think it’s as special as I do.”

Cole released “Girl Dad” last month. He wrote the emotional song with Ben Stennis and Michael Tyler. The Michael Monaco-directed music video starts with a glimpse of the moment Courtney discovered she was pregnant with a baby girl. It goes on to show Cole revisiting Georgia, including the cemetery, where Cole tells his father, “I met a girl, Dad.” He goes on to offer a look at his wedding day, which took place in June 2024 in Sonoma, California, and take out the sonogram image to tell him, “we’re having a girl, Dad.” Cole shares looks at himself and his wife getting their daughter’s nursery ready, their first moments with Rainey, bringing the family back to his hometown and more.
