The Chicks celebrated the 20th anniversary of Taking The Long Way, a “record-breaking” album, by performing one of the project’s hit singles on Jimmy Kimmel Live earlier this month.
The iconic trio, made up of Natalie Maines, Martie Maguire and Emily Strayer, took the stage with Not Ready to Make Nice. Natalie, Martie and Emily wrote the anthem with Emily Robison, Martha Eleanor Seidel Maguire, Dan Wilson and arranger David Campbell. It’s one of 14 tracks that appeared on The Chicks’ Taking The Long Way.
The Chicks’ performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live takes place shortly after the band abounded the Taking the Long Way 20th Anniversary Tour. The trio “will bring their powerhouse vocals and electrifying stage presence to intimate theatres across the U.S., honouring the enduring impact of the album that defined a generation, and celebrating the deep connection with their fans,” states a previously-issued press release announcing the run of shows.
