Watch: Lainey Wilson announces first-ever New Zealand show “We’re doing the thing!”

Lainey Wilson is coming to New Zealand and she’s bringing the whirlwind with her!
Country music powerhouse Lainey Wilson is officially heading to New Zealand for the first time, and she’s just as excited as we are.
“I have been wanting to come to New Zealand for so long,” Lainey told iHeartCountry NZ. “I can’t believe that we are finally making our way over there. But we are, and it is our first stop on the other side of the world. We are doing the thing.”
The visit comes as Lainey gears up to release the deluxe edition of her album Whirlwind on August 22. The new tracks, she says, reflect a moment of clarity after a chaotic period in her life. “I felt like these songs were kind of on the tail end of the whirlwind,” she explained. “And I know that we’re all going to experience whirlwind the rest of our life, you know?”
One of those new songs, Peace, Love and Cowboys, holds a special place in her heart. “That right there, that’s the three most important things that we need in life,” she said. “Of course I’m writing them for my fans, but it’s also a reminder for myself, you know, to really hold on to the things that are important.”
As for what fans can expect from her live show? “I hope they feel every single emotion there is to feel,” Lainey said. “That’s my job, to get on stage and just make people feel something. I want to take them home.”
And yes, she’s bringing the bellbottoms. “I had my first pair when I was nine years old, blue leopard print,” she laughed. “I remember the way they made me feel… and I’ve been rocking the bells ever since.”
