Country hitmaker Riley Green is trading sold-out stages for high-stakes drama and fans can’t wait.
The “I Wish Grandpas Never Died” singer is officially stepping into Hollywood with a gripping role in Marshals, the explosive new spinoff of the blockbuster series Yellowstone.
The new series follows Kayce Dutton, played by Luke Grimes, as he joins an elite U.S. Marshals unit tasked with delivering justice across Montana; all while balancing family life and the psychological effects of serving on the front lines.
Riley is set to appear in multiple episodes as Garrett, a “troubled” former Navy SEAL with a complicated past. Speaking to ExtraTV, the singer opened up about the depth of the role.
Garrett is a former Navy SEAL, was on the teams with Luke. He’s troubled."
He’s got some issues in what they went through together back in the day. As he shows back up, he’s struggling to deal with all that, and Kayce is constantly trying to help him and let him into that Western lifestyle and what they have out there as Marshals. It’s a pretty vulnerable character. He’s had a tough time, and that was the cool thing for me to try to get into that position and mentally go there. It was a great character for me.
The role marks a significant step for the Alabama native, allowing him to explore a more vulnerable and dramatic side of storytelling beyond the stage. Known for his rugged authenticity and heartfelt lyrics, Riley’s transition into acting feels like a natural evolution for the country hitmaker.
Fans are already wondering whether he’ll bring his musical talents to the screen. Teasing the possibility, Riley hinted, “Garrett does play a little guitar.”
So far, only the pilot episode has been released, with new episodes dropping weekly. As anticipation builds, audiences are eagerly awaiting Riley Green’s highly anticipated acting debut in Marshals.
Kiwi viewers can stream Marshals on Neon, with new episodes available every Monday
