Lauren Alaina has finally let fans in on one of the biggest secrets surrounding her upcoming album Stages.
For months, the country star had been dropping subtle clues on social media about a mystery collaboration, leaving fans guessing who would be joining her on the project. After revealing the album tracklist with the featured artist's name blurred out, Lauren watched as plenty of theories rolled in.. but most of them were way off the mark.
In a recent Instagram video, Lauren shared a few hints, revealing that the mystery guest was a male artist who has headlined stadiums, earned multiple chart-topping hits across genres, first found success through social media, and is known for being a devoted family man.
The answer? Kane Brown.
Lauren officially revealed Kane as her duet partner on the track Never Been In Love, sharing a sneak peek of the song on social media.
The collaboration marks the pair's first recording together since their smash hit What Ifs, which was released in 2016 and became a career-defining moment for both artists.
Never Been In Love will appear on Lauren’s upcoming 17-track album, Stages, due out on August 28. The record features previously released songs including Those Kind Of Women, Raining Whiskey, Better Off, and Heaven Sent, along with collaborations with Chase Matthew and Lauren brother, Tyler Suddeth.
Speaking about the album, Lauren said Stages reflects the different chapters of her life and career.
"Stages represents every version of me along the way: the dreaming, the breaking, and, ultimately, the becoming. There's something on this album for everyone, no matter what stage of life they're in."
The album follows Lauren’s previous releases Wildflower (2011), Road Less Traveled (2017), and Sitting Pretty On Top Of The World (2021).
Fans won't have to wait much longer to hear Lauren and Kane reunite on a track, with Stages arriving on August 28.
Now we just need the pair to come to NZ to perform it, please!
