Lainey Wilson and Devlin “Duck” Hodges are officially married!
The reigning Country Music Association Entertainer of the Year said “I do” to the former NFL star on Sunday (May 10). Vogue Weddings shared stunning photos by Corbin Gurkin on Instagram on Thursday (May 14). Lainey, 33, and Devlin, 30, tied the knot at the Ruskin Cave in Dickson, Tennessee, according to Vogue Weddings’ post.
“Duck and I were driving backroads in Tennessee and saw a billboard for The Ruskin Cave,” Lainey reflected in an interview with the outlet. “Duck said, ‘You wanna get married there?’ I said, ‘Done deal.’ We dropped by, saw the venue, and fell in love with the natural beauty of the cave and the simplicity of the property.”
Lainey went on a blind date with Devlin in 2021 (when she was “so broke”). The pair have since spoke about that night, including Lainey's 2025 interview with Southern Living Editor-in-Chief Sid Evans.
She joked, “on our first date, I told him that people call me Goose. I was lying, but he fell for it. I think he was like, ‘Oh, I’m in love.’” Lainey and Devlin made their red carpet debut at the 58th Academy of Country Music Awards in May 2023, at The Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas.
Devlin proposed to Lainey in February 2025, after four years of dating. He popped the question at late legend George Jones’ estate in Franklin, Tennessee, outside of Nashville. Lainey, who possibly manifested her engagement ring with a joke, said after the proposal that she’d been “wanting to see the George Jones estate for quite some time, and his buddy had it listed for sale.” She said the engagement, “could not have been more perfect.”
Lainey, who shared a glimpse of the engagement in her recent Netflix documentary, spoke about that moment with Vogue Weddings. The Grammy-winning artist, known for her signature bell bottom look, said she worked with stylist Alexandra Mandelkorn and Oscar de la Renta’s team on a custom gown with Japanese cherry blossoms that represent “living in the moment.” Lainey told Vogue Weddings of the ceremony, “I have never seen Duck smile as big as he did then. It made me feel giddy about turning the page into this next chapter of marriage. We were both anxious to say ‘I do!’”
Lainey, one of the most nominated artists at the 61st ACM Awards on Sunday (May 17), previously shared that it’s been “a wild thing for me,” to express her romantic side amid her relationship with Hodges. The 4x4xU artist “didn’t know I had that side there for a while. But it’s an exciting side to discover. I found somebody who is my biggest cheerleader, my best friend, somebody who is in my corner no matter what. …He makes it real easy to write love songs. I can’t believe I’m saying that,” Lainey said. “He’s a good person.”
The Louisiana-born country star recently opened up about future family plans. She caught up with Kate Langbroek on the Australia-based interview podcast, No Filter, and shared, “we definitely want to have a family. I think him and I both would be good parents and I’d love to see him be a dad. We’re gonna get married [first]. We’re gonna do the whole thing, and kids will be, you know, kids will be later. But we’re definitely gonna do it.” Lainey also shared in her Netflix documentary, Lainey Wilson: Keepin’ Country Cool, that she froze her eggs.
“I don’t think that I would be able to navigate this life and everything with anybody else,” Lainey said in the documentary. “I feel it in my heart that I was called to be a mama, but sometimes the Lord just has other plans. …I’m gonna freeze my eggs in April, put them babies on ice.”
Lainey said in an interview for her cover story with PEOPLE, which published last month, that Devlin, “loves Lainey way more than Lainey Wilson. He understands what it means to really work hard for something that you’ve always dreamed about.” She also said casual date nights entail, “hanging with our dogs, drinking an old-fashioned,” and said Hodges, “can cook the best steak in Nashville. He’s just that place that I get to come home to and fill my cup back up. …He makes me want to be a better person. We’re a good team.”
