It is the story of letting go of something or someone you thought was forever, something you could count on and grow old with, but suddenly gets ripped out from underneath you and life changes direction in an instant. The song talks about picking up the pieces and collecting the parts of yourself and putting them, and your heart, gently back together as you heal from the loss of the heartbreak.
